The Reference Box

The Reference Box is a tool you can use to get STRAIGHT hits in Pick 3.

It also works quite well with Pick 4.

The Reference Box (RB) is made up of the digits that are hitting the most in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd positions.

Here is an example of a RB for New York done on February 14:

4 1 2

2 4 1

0 3 9

3 5 4

This means that the hottest digits in the 1st position are 4, 2, 0, and 3.

The hottest digits in the 2nd position are 1, 4, 3, and 5.

The hottest digits in the 3rd position are 2, 1, 9, and 4.

Not ALL the hits from the RB are straight of course; many times the hits come in box form. And not all RBs generate a straight hit - but many do.

The RB can also be seen as a convenient way to VISUALLY organize information about Pick 3 and even Pick 4. It is an easy to use tool that you can REFER to at any time when deciding what numbers to play; that is why it is called a REFERENCE box. It will always tell you what digits are hitting the most in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions at any point in time.

By doing a new RB on a regular ongoing basis you will be able to SEE how the digits are moving “inside” the game. For example, you may notice that on Monday the digit 2 was very strong in the 1st position but the RB you do on Friday can reveal to you that now the digit 2 is more dominant in the 3rd position. That is very useful information that will give you an incredible edge when you play Pick 3.

The RB works in ALL states. It works in all Pick 3 and Pick 4 games.

I will now give you a few examples.

Here is the RB for FLORIDA done on Feb 15 after the midday drawing.

I can give you MANY more examples - but I think you get the point.

This is a very powerful system and it can make you a winner in Pick 3 if you master it.

I will now explain how to create a Reference Box so you too can start getting straight hits in your state as well.

NOTE : Below I will explain in detail how to create the Reference Box by hand so you can fully understand the mechanics. However, the Reference Box can be created instantly by using the programs on the P34sug website. You simply enter the results, click on “Run System” and the box shows up automatically. The same goes for my other systems; the Game Index, the Grid, RB3, RB7, F14, F26, etc. There is a corresponding program on that site that will give you the results instantly. The programs are a great time saver and they eliminate human error.

How to Create a Reference Box

I will now explain in detail how to create a Reference Box or RB for short.

First you need the last 20 results of your state…..BOTH midday and evening COMBINED.

We do NOT separate midday and evening drawings in my system; we use them together.

We will use the last 20 results from New York as an example.

  • 02/14/2011 Evening 4 0 5
  •
  • 02/14/2011 Mid-day 0 1 1
  •
  • 02/13/2011 Evening 5 5 4
  •
  • 02/13/2011 Mid-day 9 0 5
  •
  • 02/12/2011 Evening 6 4 7
  •
  • 02/12/2011 Mid-day 3 3 2
  •
  • 02/11/2011 Evening 4 3 1
  •
  • 02/11/2011 Mid-day 1 5 6
  •
  • 02/10/2011 Evening 2 7 2
  •
  • 02/10/2011 Mid-day 3 1 6
  •
  • 02/09/2011 Evening 0 8 9
  •
  • 02/09/2011 Mid-day 6 4 9
  •
  • 02/08/2011 Evening 7 4 3
  •
  • 02/08/2011 Mid-day 9 4 8
  •
  • 02/07/2011 Evening 2 1 0
  •
  • 02/07/2011 Mid-day 8 3 4
  •
  • 02/06/2011 Evening 4 1 2
  •
  • 02/06/2011 Mid-day 2 2 2
  •
  • 02/05/2011 Evening 5 5 9
  •
  • 02/05/2011 Mid-day 4 1 1

  • The 1st Position

Now we will find the top 4 digits in each position. First we will work on the 1st position. When we organize the digits from the most frequent to the least frequent in the 1st position, we get this:

4 hit the most number of times with 4 hits.

    2 hit 3 times.

    0 hit 2 times.

    The digits 3, 5, 6, and 9 hit 2 times.

    1, 7, and 8 hit just once.

(You can use a software program to do this, sort it in Excel, or count each digit individually with pen and paper. This can be a pen and paper system, all you need is the ability to COUNT digits to use it.)

As you can see, the digit 4 hit the most times in the 1st position; four times. The second most frequent digit in the 1st position is 2. It hit three times.

Now you will notice that 0, 3, 5, 6, and 9 all hit twice. What we do in a situation like this is to pick the LOWEST digit, which in this case is 0.

So the top four digits in the 1st position are 4, 2, 0, and 3.

We line them up like this:

    4

    2

    0

    3

    The 2nd Position

Now we will find the top 4 digits in the 2nd position. When we sort out all the digits, this is what we come up with:

1 hit the most number of times with 5 hits.

    4 hit 4 times.

    3 and 5 hit 3 times.

    0 hit hit 2 times.

    2, 8, and 7 hit just once.

So the digit 1 hit the most times, followed by 4, and then 3 and 5.

We line them up like this:

    1

    4

    3

    5

    The 3rd Position

We will do the same with the 3rd position.

2 hit the most number of times with 4 hits.

    1 and 9 hit 3 times.

    4, 5, and 6 hit 2 times.

    0, 3, 7, and 8 just hit once.

The digit 2 hit the most (4 times), followed by 1 and 9 (both 3 times), then with 4 (twice). And as I mentioned before, we use the digit 4 here (even though 5 and 6 also hit twice) because it is the lowest of the three.

We line them up like this:

    2

    1

    9

    4

When we put the three lines of digits together we have completed the Reference Box.

Always LABEL the RB with the DATE.

Since we started counting back from February 14, the date for this RB is February 14.

This is the Reference Box for Feb 14 for New York:

    4 1 2

    2 4 1

    0 3 9

    3 5 4

You should combine both the midday and evening drawings in Pick 3 to find the strongest trend in each position. Here is why.
